The viaExtract download is a virtual machine (VM) able to run on VMWare player or VirtualBox, both free applications. You can also run it in VMWare Workstation.You must register with viaForensics to then login and download.
Why a virtual machine?
The software is pre-installed on the VM with certain prerequisite components and a system optimized for this software. You can run the VM on Windows, Linux or Mac and do not have to worry about USB drivers for devices.
The license (demo or purchased) is for the viaExtract software itself, not the VM. But we strongly recommend the use of our pre-configured VM for viaExtract. If you would like to run viaExtract on your own Linux workstation without the VM, please contact us.
About the Download
The VM download is approximately 1GB in size. You must be registered on the viaForensics site to download.
