SAS

Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is a disk interfacing technology which provides specifications for data transfer to computers.  SAS is newer than SCSI and while not as fast as the fastest SCSI drive (3Gbps/sec vs. 5 Gbps/sec), in 2009 the plan for 6Gbps/sec drives should materialize.
