UFED now supports T-Mobile G1 (Android)

Cellebrite announced an update (v. 1108) for the Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED) which includes support for the G1.  To my knowledge, this is the first forensic solution to claim support for an Android-based phone.  I hope to test this in the near future.

According to the email alert, the following functionality was added since their 02/02/2009 release of v. 1107:

  • Google Phone (G1) was added (Content Types Extracted: Phonebook, Call Logs, SMS, Pictures, Video, Audio)
  • Vertu vendor was added.
  • LCD backlight enable/disable was added to screen settings.
  • Removable Memory card extraction support added to select Samsung & LG CDMA devices.
  • Improved boot up & menu browsing speeds.
  • Added 13 phone devices since last version (v1107):
    • HTC G1 (Google)
    • LG LG-8350 (IL)
    • Motorola ZN5 (China Mobile)
    • Sagem 526
    • Samsung SCH-R430 (Cell.south)

    • Vertu Ascent Ti-C (RM-467V)
    • Vertu Constellation (RHV-8)
    • Vertu Signature-S (RM-266V)
    • Vertu Ascent (RHV-1)
